Timothy J. Ciampaglio, CEO and President

Timothy J. Ciampaglio is the founder, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Pharos Group, Inc. Under his stewardship, Pharos Group has grown from a one-person operation to a multimillion-dollar enterprise with employees in multiple states. He has expanded Pharos Group’s services from organizational strategic planning to include information technology, training & education, and cybersecurity services. Pharos Group has worked with numerous federal government agencies and commercial entities and maintains a near perfect customer service rating.

Mr. Ciampaglio is largely responsible for the disciplined growth of Pharos Group that has retained focus on customer solutions and satisfaction. 

Prior to retiring from the United States Coast Guard, Mr. Ciampaglio completed successful tours of duty totaling nearly 10 years at sea on six ships, commanding his last unit afloat. His operational mission focus included Search and Rescue, Alien Migrant Interdiction Operations, Counter Narcotics, Living Marine Resources, and Homeland Security. Mr. Ciampaglio also served at Coast Guard Headquarters where he was the Chief of the External Coordination Division. In that role he conducted high level Coast Guard briefs, prepared witnesses for over 25 Congressional hearings, and coordinated GAO/DHS Inspector General interactions related to over 40 audits.

As a consultant of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), he holds a Master Professional Certification and was the Senior Consultant for the Army’s Surgeon General in the automation, development, and methodology of the BSC. He has also developed tailored curricula and facilitated workshops for Veterans Affairs VISN 5 in the areas of staff leadership development, team building, and strategic planning. Mr. Ciampaglio holds a B.S. in Psychology from Towson University and a master’s degree in Public Policy and Management, concentrating in Human Resource Management, from Carnegie Mellon University. He also holds a post graduate diploma in Strategy Management, with a concentration in Strategy and Innovation, from the University of Oxford, UK. He was an Associate Professor at the Coast Guard Academy, where he was voted Instructor of the Year in 2002 by the Corps of Cadets. He also served as an Adjunct Professor at The George Washington University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
